도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령과 김정은 북한 국무위원장은 12일 북미정상회담 후 미국이 북한의 체제를 보장하고, 북한은 한반도의 완전한 비핵화를 약속하는 내용의 공동합의문에 서명했다.
양국 정상이 이날 서명한 공동합의문에는 △미국은 북한의 체제보장을 약속한다 △북·미 관계를 새롭게 구축한다 △북한은 4.27 판문점 선언을 재확인해 한반도의 완전한 비핵화를 약속한다 등의 내용이 담겼다.
다음은 트럼프 대통령과 김 위원장이 서명한 공동합의문 전문이다.
도널드 트럼프 대통령과 김정은 북한 국무위원장은 2018년 6월 12일 싱가포르에서 역사적인 정상회담을 개최했다.
트럼프 대통령과 김 위원장은 새로운 북미 관계를 형성하고 한반도에 지속적이고 견실한 평화체제 구축을 위한 지속적이고 포괄적이며 깊이 있는 의견 교환을 진행했다. 트럼프 대통령은 북한에 대한 안전 보장을 약속했으며 김 위원장은 한반도의 ‘완전한 비핵화’(complete denuclarization)를 위한 굳건하고 흔들림 없는 약속을 재차 확인했다.
새로운 북미 관계를 통해 한반도 및 세계 평화와 번영에 기여하고 상호 신뢰를 형성함으로써 한반도 비핵화를 촉진할 수 있다는 트럼프 대통령과 김 위원장의 공동의 인식 아래 다음 합의 내용을 발표한다.
1. 미국과 북한은 평화와 번영을 향한 양국 국민의 열망에 따라 새로운 미국-북한 관계를 수립할 것을 약속한다.
2. 두 나라는 한반도에 항구적이고 안정적인 평화 체제를 구축하기 위한 노력에 동참한다.
3. 북한은 2018년 4월 27일 판문점 선언을 재확인하고 한반도 비핵화를 위해 노력할 것을 약속한다.
4. 북미는 전쟁포로 및 전시 행방불명자 유해발굴에 나설 것이며 이미 확인된 유해는 즉각 송환한다.
트럼프 대통령과 김 위원장은 북미 양국이 역사상 처음으로 개최된 이번 북미정상회담이 획기적이고 큰 의미를 가지며, 이를 통해 지난 수 십 년 간의 긴장상황과 적대감을 극복하고 새로운 미래를 열 수 있다는 점을 확인한다.
따라서 두 정상은 공동합의문의 조항을 완전하고 신속하게 이행할 것을 약속한다. 북미는 마이크 폼페이오 미국 국무장관과 북측 고위 관계자가 주도하는 후속 협상을 가능한 가장 빠른 시일 안에 개최해 정상회담에서의 성과를 이행할 것을 약속한다.
트럼프 대통령과 김 위원장은 북미 관계를 증진하고 한반도 및 세계 평화와 번영, 그리고 안전을 촉진하기 위해 협력할 것을 약속한다.

President Donald J. Trump of the United States of America and Chairman Kim Jong Un of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) held a first, historic summit in Singapore on June 12, 2018.
President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un conducted a comprehensive, in-depth, and sincere exchange of opinions on the issues related to the establishment of new U.S.-DPRK relations and the building of a lasting and robust peace regime on the Korean Peninsula. President Trump committed to provide security guarantees to the DPRK, and Chairman Kim Jong Un reaffirmed his firm and unwavering commitment to complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
Convinced that the establishment of new U.S.-DPRK relations will contribute to the peace and prosperity of the Korean Peninsula and of the world, and recognizing that mutual confidence building can promote the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un state the following:
1. The United States and the DPRK commit to establish new U.S.-DPRK relations in accordance with the desire of the peoples of the two countries for peace and prosperity.
2. The United States and the DPRK will join their efforts to build a lasting and stable peace regime on the Korean Peninsula.
3. Reaffirming the April 27, 2018 Panmunjom Declaration, the DPRK commits to work towards complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
4. The United States and the DPRK commit to recovering POW/MIA remains, including the immediate repatriation of those already identified.
Having acknowledged that the U.S.-DPRK summit -- the first in history -- was an epochal event of great significance and overcoming decades of tensions and hostilities between the two countries and for the opening of a new future, President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un commit to implement the stipulations in this joint statement fully and expeditiously. The United States and the DPRK commit to hold follow-on negotiations led by the U.S. Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, and a relevant high-level DPRK official, at the earliest possible date, to implement the outcomes of the U.S.-DPRK summit.
President Donald J. Trump of the United States of America and Chairman Kim Jong Un of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People‘s Republic of Korea have committed to cooperate for the development of new U.S.-DPRK relations and for the promotion of peace, prosperity, and security of the Korean Peninsula and of the world.
