The foreign ministry says it hopes the U.S.-North Korea summit will become a historic milestone for achieving complete denuclearization and establishing permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula.
The ministry said in a regular briefing that it is glad to see the highly-anticipated summit to have taken place in Singapore today.
It added that the government will maintain cooperation with the U.S. and continue diplomatic efforts to make real progress toward resolving the North's nuclear issue.■
