"Molar" Father Lee Young-Hak
The appeals trial for Lee Young-hak, a 36-year-old man who was sentenced to death for raping and murdering his teenage daughter's friend last year, begins today.
The first hearing is set to open at the Seoul High Court at 3 p.m. this afternoon.
Lee was indicted last November for raping and murdering his daughter's friend, as well as other charges including indecent act by force, enticement, drug use and abandonment of a body.
The same court will also open a separate hearing in the appeals trial of his daughter.
She was sentenced to four years in prison for luring the friend to their house and helping her father dump her body.
Her sentence can be extended up to six years in case of an infraction during her four-year imprisonment.■
