A Seoul court has pronounced death sentence for Lee Young-hak, a 36-year-old man charged with raping and murdering his teen daughter's friend.
The Seoul Northern District Court handed down the capital punishment on Lee, who had confessed to choking the 14-year-old girl to death in his home last year after committing lewd acts on her body while she was drugged.
The court also sentenced Lee's daughter up to six years in prison for aiding her father's crime.
Lee, who lost all but one molar because of a rare dental disease, earned the nickname the "molar father" after appearing on a TV show that sparked a social campaign to donate hundreds of millions of won to his family.■
