의회예산국은 부시의 감세안이 의회를 통과할 경우 재정적자는 10년 후 2조달러로 확대될 것이라 지적했다. 이라크와 아프간의 전쟁비용은 점차 줄어들겠지만 그래도 향후 10년간 총 6천억 달러의 영향을 미칠 것이라고 예산국은 추정했다.
