영어권 국가에서 여성의 익명 나타낼 때 쓰는 말.

본래는 남성의 익명을 가리키는 존 도(John Doe)에서, 존을 흔한 여성 이름 제인으로 바꿔친 것. '존 도'와 마찬가지로 법정에서 여자의 이름을 모르거나 비밀로 할 경우에 쓰는 가명이 되었다.
