Synopsis

A former professional athlete loses everything in his lust for money. Lee Hwan (Lee Min Ki) was a professional baseball player who was kicked out of the league after being implicated in a game-fixing scandal. He goes to work for Jung Sang Ha (Park Sung Woong), a powerful crime boss who operates Emperor Capital, the largest private loan company in Busan. Sang Ha takes the naïve Lee Hwan under his wings and shows him the life that money and power can get him, and Lee Hwan begins to climb the ranks of the dangerous loan shark business. Lee Hwan meets bar owner Cha Yeon Soo (Lee Tae Im) and falls in love with her. But when Yeon Soo disappears one day, Lee Hwan suspects that his boss had something to do with it. Will Lee Hwan have the courage to go after his mentor to save the woman he loves? “For the Emperor” is a 2014 South Korean film directed by Park Sang Joon.
